2024 - 2025 SCHOOL DRESS CODE
The Barrett School has a partnership with Lands End School Uniforms to provide uniforms for all students or all grade levels. Please click the link below to view available options. Additionally, please review our Dress Code policy.
-
All tops must have the approved school logo unless paired with a dress adorning the appropriate school logo.
-
When wearing outerwear such as a sweater or blazer (not to include a winter coat), please ensure the outermost layer is the school approved logo and/or is the appropriate school color if worn indoors.
-
Bottoms must be khaki or approved plaid (khaki bottoms are not required to be purchased through the exclusive school uniform distributor).
-
Garments must allow for participation in all regular school activities while maintaining dignity and modesty.
-
All articles of clothing must be worn as they are designed to be worn.
-
Undergarments should not be visible.
-
Shorts of modest length, loose fitting, and hemmed may be worn by students.
-
Dresses and skirts should be of modest length and fit.
-
Extremely sloppy, badly torn, or inappropriately torn/slit/ripped clothing is prohibited.
-
Closed toe shoes must be worn. Taps, metal plates, cleats, or wheels on shoes will not be permitted. Shoes should have minimal accent colors and no embellishments. Shoes should not display any characters.
-
Students may not wear house shoes, pajamas tops or bottoms, boxers, or other sleepwear as outerwear.
-
Apparel that advertises or depicts alcohol, drugs, nudity, tobacco products, satanic themes, gang membership, obscene language, obscene graphics, and/or phrases that are offensive to others will not be permitted.
-
Any disruptive or distractive mode of clothing or appearance that adversely impacts the educational process is not acceptable.
-
Extremes in modes of dress, such as see through clothing, exposed midriffs, or clothing normally considered as undergarments are not acceptable.
-
Backpacks and lunch boxes should be plain in appearance and display no characters. Illustrations such as animals or sports objects should be minimal.
-
Please send your child with a reusable water bottle each day. All water bottles need to be properly labeled with your child’s first and last name. Again, water bottle should not have any characters and all illustrations should be minimal.
-
Personal effects and toys should be left at home. The school will not be responsible for lost, stolen or misplaced items.
-
Please ensure your child has shoes appropriate for all activities including recess and/or physical education. If your child is unable to tie their shoes, they must be sent in shoes they can easily remove and put on independently.
-
Items left at the school will be turned into Lost and Found in our front office. At the end of each semester, we will make an announcement. Unclaimed items will be donated. We strongly recommend labeling outerwear such as sweaters and jackets.
-
If your child(ren) outgrow their school uniforms, please make every attempt to help supply a current or incoming family with the opportunity to assume those items. Please ensure that items shared are in good condition and not in need of repair.
